Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
406 AM EDT Thu Jun 19 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms across the region
this afternoon and evening, with a lingering threat for precipitation
into the early part of the overnight hours. A few thunderstorms could
become strong to severe, with the greatest risk across the northern
Midlands. Winds this afternoon outside of convection should be
southwest with gusts to around 25 mph possible. Behind the front, winds
will shift from southwest to north by Friday morning. Friday should
be slightly cooler and drier with a few showers or thunderstorms in
the afternoon towards the coastal plain. Saturday and Sunday should
feature more of the same. Early next week, temperatures ramp up and
precipitations chances diminish.

Fog Potential Tonight: Fog is not expected.
