Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
122 PM EDT Tue Sep 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Dry high pressure will remain in place through Wednesday before a
front pushes into the region. As a result, winds will weaken late
Tuesday and throughout Wednesday before turning out of the
southwest for Thursday. Moisture return consequently increases and
bumps humidity back near typical for Thursday. Rain chances
increase slightly for Thursday as this front approaches, but only
expecting a few scattered showers-storms. The front will never
quite push through the area, so a warming-moist pattern expected
with southwest winds into the weekend.

Fog potential tonight: Some shallow ground and/or river fog
possible but not expecting it to be dense or widespread.
