.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will remain over the area through the weekend while
weak low pressure tracks off the Mid-Atlantic coast passing well
south of our region. High pressure will slide east of the area
Monday into Tuesday. Low pressure will track well north of the
area on Wednesday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Weak area of high pressure will remain across the region
through tonight. Weak wave of low pressure remains well to our
south, passing to the east of the mid atlantic region. Expect
partly to mostly sunny skies across the region today. Weak
pressure pattern at the surface will result in light and
variable wind today. Afternoon highs today will range from the
mid to upper 60s, except only in the upper 50s to around 60
along the coast with a sea breeze developing. Dry conditions
will continue across the region tonight as high pressure slides
east. Lows tonight will range from the low to mid 40s across
most of the region.

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
A weak but large area of high pressure on Sunday will extend
from Ontario and Quebec through our region into the Maritimes.
This will bring mostly dry and seasonable weather. However, a
weak upper air disturbance crossing the region around midday
will bring patchy clouds and some isolated showers around midday
into early afternoon. These look like low top convective
showers, no more than 10K or 12K ft high. Surface high pressure
will slide to the east on Monday allowing a light southwesterly
return flow into the area behind the high. Temperatures and
humidity will be slightly higher than they will be on Sunday.
An isolated shower is possible over the highlands Monday
afternoon. This will be followed by a partly cloudy night Monday
night with lows a bit warmer than previous nights as a return
southwesterly flow continues around high pressure moving off to
the east.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Moisture will continue to increase a bit on Wednesday behind high
pressure sliding east into the Atlantic. A weak low in the northern
branch flow will track through Quebec. This low may work with some
of the moisture advecting into the area increasing the chances
for some showers and possibly a thunderstorm along with humid
conditions on Wednesday. The best chance for showers will be
across central and northern areas. Another wave of low pressure
tracking through Southern Canada will approach on Thursday
lifting up to our northwest Thursday afternoon. This will bring
another humid day with with a chance of showers and
thunderstorms again, mainly across central and northern spots. A
chance for showers will continue Thursday night into Friday as
the low tracks north of the region.

Low pressure will continue northeast into the Northern Maritimes
Friday afternoon into Friday night. Some showers will continue to be
possible in the circulation around the low Friday afternoon into
Friday night. The ECMWF pulls drier air into the area faster than
the GFS late Friday into Friday night.

.AVIATION /06Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
NEAR TERM: VFR all terminals through tonight with light and
variable wind.

SHORT TERM:
Sunday...VFR. Light SW wind.

Sunday night...VFR. Light SW wind, becoming calm.

Monday...VFR. SW wind.

Monday night...VFR, possibly lowering to MVFR or IFR in lower clouds
moving in from the south across southern areas. light S wind.

Tuesday...Possibly IFR over the south and MVFR elsewhere early,
becoming VFR by midday. Light S wind.

Tuesday night...VFR lowering to MVFR and possibly IFR late.
Light S wind.

Wednesday...MVFR, possibly becoming VFR. S wind.

.MARINE...
NEAR TERM: Winds/seas will remain below SCA levels through
tonight.

SHORT TERM:
Wind and seas are expected to be below SCA through early next
week. Increasingly humid air will move in over the waters
Tuesday through mid-week next week likely resulting in fog,
especially over the waters off Washington County.
