.DISCUSSION...
The large NorEaster to our south today will remain stalled off the
Mid-Atlantic coast but its cloud shield will remain over the
RX area in Downeast Maine. High pressure to the north will keep
the RX area dry again today with NE winds slowly increasing this
morning thanks to the tightening pressure gradient. NE winds
5-10mph this morning will begin to gust up to 20mph after 11AM
this morning. RHs this morning in the 80% range will fall back
to 54% by 3PM this afternoon. Transport winds will be stronger
today with good smoke dispersal late morning into this afternoon.
Winds after 5PM will begin to slowly relax back to 5-10mph with
just occasional gusts to 15mph through 3AM Sunday. RHs increase
to 80-85% tonight with chance of rain increasing between 6PM-9PM.
Confidence has increased in lowering the chance of a wetting rain
back to 50% tonight as high pressure will limit how far north the
rain shield can extend inland from the Gulf of Maine.
Sunday expecting a chance of rain but higher probabilities of
staying dry at the RX site. NE winds from daybreak throughout the
day 5-15mph with gusts up to 20mph possible. Transport winds
remain elevated at 15-20mph and intially pool smoke dispersal
early becoming good by mid morning into the afternoon hours.
