Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Charleston SC
543 PM EST Thu Nov 13 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
Dry high pressure will remain the primary feature across the
area through the weekend. A dry cold front could move through
the area early next week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Surface high pressure will extend across the Southeast tonight.
Aloft, the forecast area will be under northwest flow, in
between a trough centered off the Northeast coast and a ridge
over the Southern Plains. A band of thin higher level clouds
will pass through later this evening, then clear skies are
anticipated for the remainder of the overnight. This in
combination with light/calm winds will provide favorable
radiational cooling conditions. Low temperatures are forecast to
fall to the upper 30s to low 40s inland; mid to upper 40s
closer to the coast.

&&

.SHORT TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Friday and Saturday: A very quiet pattern feature sfc high
pressure centered over the region with dry NW mid-level flow.
This pattern should provide seasonal temperatures across the
forecast area on Friday, high temperatures around 70. Low
temperatures Friday night around 40 inland to the mid 40s along
the coast. The center of high pressure slides to the south on
Saturday, resulting in SW winds across the CWA. Temperatures are
forecast to warm into the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday: A dry cold front should sweep across the southern
Appalachians during the afternoon. Ongoing return flow should
bring mild thicknesses across the region. The combination of
warm thicknesses partly sunny conditions should yield high
temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, 80 degrees possible across
some locations in SE GA.

&&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
A dry cold is timed to push across the region Sunday night.
Long term guidance indicates that low pressure will organize
over the Great Plains on Monday, tracking rapidly east off the
coast of the mid-Atlantic coast by early Wednesday. Temperatures
should gradually warm through the early to mid week, warming
back to the mid to upper 70s by Wednesday.

&&

.AVIATION /00Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
14/00z TAF Discussion:
KCHS/KJZI/KSAV: VFR through 15/00z.

Extended Aviation Outlook: VFR.

.MARINE...
Through Tonight: No marine concerns are expected through
tonight. High pressure centered over the region will result in
light winds through this evening, then becoming north around 10
knots by daybreak Friday. Seas will be 1-2 feet.

Friday through Tuesday: Sfc high pressure will remain centered
over the marine zones Friday and Friday night. With little to no
pressure gradient, northeast winds should range between 5 to 10
kts. Seas are forecast to range between 1 to 2 ft. Saturday
through Sunday, high pressure will shift to the south as a cold
front approaches from the north. Southwest winds will surge into
the 15-25 knot range across the Charleston County nearshore,
seas increasing to 3 to 5 ft. Small Craft Advisories may be
needed during the early week, especially for the Charleston
County nearshore. Conditions improve Monday into Tuesday as
