...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following county, Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding, especially
  across Downtown Charleston. It will take a few hours for water
  from these storms to work through local drainage systems.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 948 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding in the
    warned area.  Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.
    Additional light showers in the area could produce up to half
    inch of rainfall.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Fort Sumter, Downtown
    Charleston, James Island, Daniel Island, West Ashley, Isle Of
    Palms, Folly Beach and Sullivan`s Island.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
