...A SPECIAL AVALANCHE ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4:30 PM FRIDDAY UNTIL 4:30 PM SUNDAY...


*WHAT...Avalanche conditions are very dangerous.
*WHERE...Elkhead and Park Mountains, Flat Tops, Front Range, Gore Range, Elk Mountains, West Elk Mountains.
*WHEN... From 4:30 PM Friday until 4:30 PM Sunday.
*IMPACTS... Backcountry travelers can easily trigger dangerous avalanches large enough to injure or kill a human.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Avoid traveling on and under slopes with a slope angle steeper than about 30 degrees, as you can trigger avalanches from a distance or from below. We will update the avalanche forecast each afternoon with more detailed information on local areas. Check it at www.colorado.gov/avalanche.
