.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 109 PM CDT Wed Aug 27 2025

Dry and hot conditions will returnee Thursday and continue
through Friday as the mid to upper level ridge aloft strengthens.
This will lead to above normal temperatures across South Texas
with heat indices briefly approaching/surpassing 110 degrees
during the afternoon hours, resulting in a moderate to major risk
of heat related impacts. By the weekend and into early next week,
the ridge is expected to shift north and west allowing mid-level
shortwave energy to bring increasing moisture back into South
Texas. This will support returning low to medium (20-60%) rain
chances Saturday through Monday, mainly during the afternoon and
evening hours.

Please use caution if outdoors and remember to
remain hydrated and take frequent breaks. More heat safety
information can be found at weather.gov/heat
