Updated at 138 PM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025 - Moderate to major Risk of heat-realted impacts, decreasing to minor to moderate this weekend - Low to medium (25-45%) rain chances Thursday through the weekend && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 138 PM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025 Drier air will filter into the region the next couple of days to allow us to dry out and warm back up to near to slightly above normal temperatures. With the warmer temperatures returning, the risk of heat-related impacts will once again increase. With heat index values expected to range from 105-111 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, there will be a moderate to major risk of heat-related impacts. As we head into the end of the workweek and the weekend, the heat risk will decrease to minor to moderate with the expected cloud cover and possible rain chances. As we head into the weekend, a tropical wave could increase moisture into the region promoting low to medium rain chances. Confidence remains low on the actual outcome of where this feature will track, so our extended forecast continues to have high uncertainty. If this feature does track further north, we can see increased rain chances in the 40-60% range. && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1115 AM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025 VFR conditions will prevail this TAF cycle, with breezy south- southeasterly winds gusting up to 25 knots. Tonight, winds begin to slightly subside, but will generally remain between 12-15 knots. By sunrise Wednesday morning, any location that drops below 10 kt winds may briefly experience patchy fog, reducing flight categories to MVFR/IFR. This mainly applies to both KVCT and KALI between the hours of 10-14Z. South-southeasterly winds will pick back up again by mid to late Wednesday morning. && .MARINE... Issued at 138 PM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025 A moderate to fresh breeze (BF 4-5) will continue through Wednesday night before becoming mainly moderate (BF 4) Thursday through the weekend. Low to medium (30-60%) rain chances can be expected each day from Thursday through early next week, especially across the Gulf waters. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
