.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1226 AM CDT Thu Jul 17 2025

The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area of low
pressure (Tropical Invest AL93) across the northeast gulf. The
system is forecast to continue moving west across the northern gulf
tonight. There is a medium 40 percent chance of development over the
next 48 hours. Impacts are not expected across S TX other than a
slight increase in moisture.

Otherwise, the summer time pattern will continue through the
upcoming weekend and into next week with South Texas expected to
remain generally rain free. There is low (10-25%) chance of showers
and thunderstorms across the Victoria Crossroads Friday, but is
dependent on Tropical Invest AL93.

Temperatures will be near to slightly above normal through the
weekend and into next week. Max heat indices may briefly approach
110 over the weekend across the Brush Country due to the expected
slight increase in moisture. The slightly higher heat indices will
lead to a moderate to major risk of heat related impacts over the
weekend and into next week.

(12Z TAFS)

A drier vertical profile has led to little in the way of low cloud
development, thus mainly VFR conditions are occurring and are
expected through the remainder of the period.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1226 AM CDT Thu Jul 17 2025

Mainly gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) southeasterly winds with gusts to

around 25 knots will be possible from Port Aransas southward to
Baffin Bay each afternoon. Rain chances are low through the
period.
