835 FXUS64 KCRP 021127 AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX 627 AM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 604 AM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025 - Low to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms continues today. - Moderate to major risk of heat related impacts Wednesday through Friday. - Rain chances expected to return this weekend. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1126 PM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025 Shower and thunderstorm coverage will gradually decrease today as a weak boundary drifts southward. PoPs will range from around 20-40% across the Coastal Plains to 15-30% farther inland before a drier airmass takes hold by the evening hours. This will bring lower rain chances beginning midweek along with a return to hotter afternoons. Highs will climb into the mid-90s along the coast and near/above 100 degF across the Brush Country, while overnight lows will fall into the low to mid-70s across the region. Residents should continue to exercise heat safety as these summerlike conditions persist. Looking ahead, attention shifts towards the upcoming weekend. Global guidance indicates another disturbance moving into the area, aided by moisture return off the Gulf. While there is still considerable uncertainty regarding timing and track, an uptick in rain chances appears in the cards beginning Saturday and continuing into early next week. Forecast confidence on rainfall amounts and coverage remains low, and more time will be needed to continue to monitor trends in order to refine this forecast. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 604 AM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025 Showers and storms this morning are south of all terminals and moving to the southeast and not expecting much additional development through the morning. Could see a bit of daytime heating activity this afternoon, while chances are pretty small everywhere, enough of a chance at CRP to include mention in TAF. Otherwise expect VFR conditions and light winds through the period. && .MARINE... Issued at 1126 PM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025 Gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) north-northeast winds will develop today and continue through Wednesday afternoon. A low to medium (30-60%) chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue today before chances diminish this evening. Onshore flow will resume late Wednesday/early Thursday. This moisture return off the Gulf will help to influence the increase in rain chances this upcoming weekend. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
