- Major to Extreme risk of heat-related impacts continue into next

A high that is located around the Four Corners region, will meander
south-southeastwards slightly through the week. This will promote
very dry rain free conditions outside of occasional isolated
seabreeze convection daily. Heat indices will be up to 113 today
once again. This is expected to persist through the week. Therefore
we will continue to monitor for short- fused heat related
products. We could see heat indices near 115 by midweek. This
translates to moderate to predominately major HeatRisk conditions,
though some areas of extreme HeatRisk will be possible in the
Brush Country. We strongly encourage the practice of heat safety
in these conditions. Take frequent breaks and remember to stay
hydrated, check those backseats, and avoid long exposure in these
temperatures. For more information be sure to check out

With the presence of high ERCs and low relative humidity values
across inland South Texas, elevated fire weather conditions will
be expected today. Due to this a Fire Danger Statement was issued
through 10 PM tonight. Though winds are expected to be light,
fires will be able to be easily ignited.

Late this week, guidance is hinting at the potential for a
disturbance to sneak around the eastern periphery of the ridge.
This could combine with some returning moisture to provide some
relief. We will hold our breath on this possibility due to it
being still too far out. In the meantime, stay cool everyone!

at ALI and VCT from 08Z-12Z so have left TEMPO groups in for
this.

Light to moderate (BF 2-4) onshore breezes will continue through the
period, with occasional fresh (BF 5) breezes possible during the
late afternoon/evening hours, especially south of Port Aransas. Seas
are expected to remain around 2-3 feet. Rain chances will remain
near zero through the middle of the week.
