857 FXUS64 KCRP 161758 AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX Issued by National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX 1258 PM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025 ...New DISCUSSION, MARINE... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 1253 PM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025 - Moderate to Major Heat Risk through early this week - Rain Chances increasing again late this week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1253 PM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025 A persistent ridge will dominate the weather pattern across South Texas for the next few days, leading to warm and humid conditions with a moderate to major heat risk. Maximum Heat indices around 105- 109 are expected through Wednesday then for the remainder of the week will max out near 100 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms primarily along the coast and inland during the afternoon due to sea breeze interaction and potential decaying upper- level disturbances. There`s a moderate chance for storms the rest of today with chances Tuesday and Wednesday being low. A plume of tropical moisture is anticipated to increase rain/storm chances to around a moderate (45-55%) chance by the latter half of the week, helping to mitigate the heat. Surface highs during the first half of this week will top out in the upper 80s along the coast, with low 100s approaching 105 in some locales inland. For the remainder of the period, expect highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s across the region. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s to around 80 degrees under partly cloudy skies. && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1124 AM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025 Numerous showers and thunderstorms are still affecting ALI and CRP with activity continuing through 20-21Z or so. By this evening, precipitation and storm chances diminish and flight categories return to primarily VFR through Tuesday morning. TEMPO groups were included for ALI and VCT tomorrow morning for brief periods of MVFR VSBYs due to patchy fog. && .MARINE...
