...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT SUNDAY FOR
SOUTHERN WARREN COUNTY...

At 1104 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate that
thunderstorms have produced between 2 and 5 inches of rain.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area as another thunderstorm is moving toward the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sheffield, Garland, Grand Valley and Tidioute.

Tidioute and Caldwell Creeks, and Gar and McGuire Runs are some of
the basins which have received the heaviest rainfall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
