Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College, PA
Issued by National Weather Service Binghamton NY
252 PM EDT Wed Jun 10 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Heat and humidity are expected to continue to increase through
the end of the week. Heat index values will reach into the upper
90s to near 100F across much of southeastern Pennsylvania
Thursday and Friday. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms
will continue through Friday. A few storms could produce damaging
winds, but the main impact will be some beneficial rainfall for
much of the area. Only brief breaks in the chance for rain exist
through Friday. A cold front pushing through on Friday/Friday
night will force widespread showers and storms and perhaps severe
thunderstorms. Relatively drier air is expected this weekend, with
relative humidities diving back down into the 30-40% range across
much of central Pennsylvania for Sat and Sun.
