.DISCUSSION...
Periods of steady rain during the predawn hours will transition to
scattered showers and thunderstorms lasting into this evening.
Monday will bring a lull in the rainfall north of I-80, but
locations south of I-80 may see scattered showers and a few
thundershowers during the afternoon. Rain will continue to expand
northward Monday night and continue into Tuesday as a slow moving
upper trough approaches from the Ohio Valley. The strength and
exact placement of a high pressure system over Quebec next week
will determine whether the heaviest rain falls over Pennsylvania
or if it will be focused to our south and east. The pressure
gradient between this high pressure system and low pressure to
its south will result in daily wind gusts over 20 mph in parts of
central PA each day through midweek.
