.DISCUSSION...
A slow moving and weak cold frontal boundary, stretched
from the Northern Poconos to near State College and
Pittsburgh early this morning will dissipate today.
Temperatures will warm up nicely today, with afternoon
highs several degrees above normal in many places.
A potent surface and upper level trough moving across the
Northern Great Lakes today will push a stronger cold front
through the Commonwealth late tonight and Saturday.
The front will temporarily slow as it moves through the
state and a weak wave of low pressure rides northeast along
it. This will bring several rounds of showers to the region
with scattered late morning and afternoon thunderstorms
Saturday, mainly near and to the east of the Susquehanna
Valley.
Noticeably cooler and less humid air will arrive for the
second half of the weekend. Some of the protected high
valleys of Northern PA could see a touch of frost early
Monday and Tuesday morning.
