Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
445 AM EDT Wed Jun 19 2024

High pressure off the East Coast will continue to direct unusually
hot and humid air into the state for the rest of this week and
into the weekend.

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms close to the NY
border this afternoon and evening with an isolated storm or two
occurring as far south as I-80. High temperatures and high
humidity will push the heat index up near 100 across all of the
Commonwealth. High temperatures will be near 85 on the highest
ridge tops and lower 90s in the valleys. Lows tonight will be 65
to 70 degrees.

Thursday looks similar to today regarding temperatures and where
the pop-up storms will occur. The daily thunderstorms across the
north may cause a few stronger wind gusts, particularly in the
northeast. The heat and humidity will combine to push the heat
index close to 100 degrees again over all of the state.
