  largely dry weather continuing.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/...

The short term forecast is predominantly controlled by an upper
level ridge that followed the low pressure system that gave the
region a mix of rain and snow. 700mb temperatures dropped on the
backside of the low pressure system to about -2 degrees. This cold
airmass will likely stay above us over the next couple of days as
another low pressure system moves through the Southwestern Desert of
the United States. This means for the next 48 hours the day time
high`s will be in the upper 40`s to lower 50`s east of the I-25
corridor and mid to low 40`s for our higher elevation towns likely
Laramie, Rawlins, and Saratoga. Overnight expect temperatures to
drop to the mid 20`s with a couple areas in Southeast Wyoming to hit
around 30. In the Nebraska Panhandle it will be marginally warmer
with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35F. As the short wave passes
to our south tomorrow, it bring some cloud cover starting Wednesday
afternoon. There is a very slight chance for precipitation to fall
onto our mountain peaks but otherwise expect dry and cloudy
conditions on the way home from work. The daily highs and overnight
lows look to be relatively the same as today, although the cloud
cover may keep us a tad warmer than what the models may have
forecasted. The good thing about this ridge is the light winds
across our area so the "wind chill" will just be the temperatures
outside maybe minus one degree.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...

Thursday...Expect a decent warming trend as a well pronounced ridge
aloft builds across the western High Plains states from the western
Dakotas southward to eastern Colorado. 700 mb temperatures near 2
Celsius will yield maximum temperatures in the 50s.

Friday...A progressive shortwave trough aloft will move across
eastern Montana and the western Dakotas, but only with some mid and
high level clouds across our counties and limited lift producing no
precipitation.

Saturday...The trough aloft moves into Nebraska and Kansas with a
shortwave ridge aloft moving over Wyoming, continuing the dry
weather for our forecast area.

Sunday...The flow aloft backs to westerly, inducing a decent surface
lee trough across eastern Wyoming and eastern Colorado and producing
a warming trend. 700 mb temperatures near 6 Celsius will yield high
temperatures from the mid 50s to upper 60s.

Monday-Tuesday...Dry westerly flow aloft will continue with a
progressive pattern of fast moving shortwave troughs aloft moving
across our forecast area, but producing no precipitation due to
relatively dry low and mid levels. Maximum temperatures will
continue above normal, from the upper 50s to mid 60s.

VFR will prevail over the next 24 hours as weak mid-level ridging
builds ahead of a shortwave trough. KRWL is currently under MVFR
CIGs, however these low clouds should erode within a few hours of
sunset as some low and mid-level dry air moves in, leaving behind
just a few high clouds. Wind speeds should also decrease shortly
after sunset and remaining either variable or out of the NW below 10
knots.
