... ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING TODAY...
.DISCUSSION...
Drier air will quickly move across the area, knocking down RH to
below 20% this afternoon for much of southeast Wyoming. In addition,
increasing southwest flow will lead to gusty winds, mainly along
and west of I-25. This will produce elevated fire weather conditions
primarily in the valleys of Carbon, Albany, and Converse counties.
This will not be particularly long lasting as moisture begins to
recover Thursday with lighter winds expected too. Fire weather
concerns will be fairly minimal from Friday into early next week
as RH is expected to remain well above critical thresholds with much
improved moisture returning. However, gusty winds are still possible
during this period, particularly on Saturday and Sunday.
