.DISCUSSION...
No fire concerns are anticipated this week as a weak ridge is expected to
build back over the Intermountain West as a low pressure system sits and
spins of the West coast. There is a few shortwaves that are expected to be
sent Tuesday evening lasting into Wednesday morning and another one
expected Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. With Pacific moisture
constantly being advected into the region, RH values are expected to fall
between 30 to 40 percent in the afternoons on non-rainy days and around 50
to 60 percent on our rainy days (Tuesday and Thursday). Each night low level
surface moisture is expected to be trapped under the surface inversion
allowing for RH recoveries into the 90 to 100 percent with the possiblity
of fog development in the morning. The forcing with each shortwave looks to
be relatively weak so the chances for a wetting rain look to be around 5 to
10 percent across the forecast area. Winds are expected to be gusty with
each shortwave around 45 mph but relatively light between 20 and 25 mph all
other days.
