Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
155 PM MDT Thu Jun 20 2024

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 439 IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS
EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Sufficient moisture in place across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska
Panhandle today and Friday for widespread showers and storms this
afternoon and again Friday. Low pressure over northern Laramie Range
this afternoon will keep southeasterly winds ahead of the low across
the southeast Wyoming plains and Nebraska Panhandle. This low will
serve as the focusing mechanism for shower/storm development.
Overnight fog and low clouds expected across the Panhandle into
Niobrara County as overnight recoveries rebound to 100 percent.
Drying out of the atmosphere Saturday through the weekend as low
and associated front gets pushed east. Could see critical afternoon
humidity Saturday afternoon...spreading east Sunday into zones east
of the Laramie Range.
