Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
109 PM MDT Sat Jun 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Much drier air covers much of southeast Wyoming this afternoon as a weak
cold front slowly moves eastward. Front currently just east of Cheyenne
and the eastern slopes of the Laramie Range...separating higher dewpoints
east from drier dewpoints west. Showers and thunderstorms mainly south
in Colorado...but a few may develop along the Wyoming/Colorado state line
this afternoon. North of Interstate 80...most if not all fire weather
zones expected to remain dry. Warmer and drier Sunday with afternoon
temperatures approaching 100 degrees in the Panhandle and upper 80s/low
90s across southeast Wyoming. Afternoon humidity Sunday expected to become
critical with low to mid teens just about everywhere. Next chance for
showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon...mainly along and west of
the Laramie Range. These will be mainly high based virga/dry thunderstorms
producing very little in the way of wetting rains. Next best chance for
wetting rains will be Wednesday afternoon and again Thursday afternoon.
