Mostly clear skies are expected throughout today with breezy
southerly winds. Very hot temperatures in the 100s are expected this
afternoon with areas across south central Kansas reaching heat
advisory criteria. A heat advisory is in effect to account for
this. A weak disturbance will move through Nebraska tonight
increasing the chances of thunderstorms across our northern zones.
Otherwise expect an increase in cloudiness. A cold front will also
move through the area tonight shifting winds to the northeast. East
to northeast winds are expected tomorrow then shift to the southeast
tomorrow night. Thunderstorms are expected to form across eastern
Colorado tomorrow afternoon and move into western Kansas in the
evening. It is hard to tell how long these storms will remain intact
as they trek eastward across the remainder of the CWA. An upper
level high then west of the area Thursday through the first part of
next week suppressing any activity from forming across western
Kansas. As for temperatures, highs Wednesday look to range from the
mid 80s north to upper mid to upper 90s along the KS/OK border.
Highs then dip into the upper 90s to low 90s Thursday then rebound
into the upper 90s to around 100 degrees by this weekend. Lows
during this time frame will generally be in the 60s with low 70s
