.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 318 PM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025

After the thunderstorms end this evening along a weak cold
front, the next weather maker will pass Wednesday evening in the
form of a weak cold front. There are small chances for t-storms
across southern sections ahead of the front. Expect warmer highs
in the upper 80s to lower 90s ahead of the front Wednesday.

A stronger cold front will pass Thursday night as a deep upper
level trough amplifies over the northern plains and Great Lakes.
There are small chances for showers and t-storms along and just
behind the front into early Friday. In the wake of the front,
expect much cooler weather on Friday, with highs in the upper
60s to mid 70s.

Surface high pressure is expected to build across the central
plains for Saturday and Sunday, leading to pleasant highs in the
mid to upper 70s. Some of the ensemble clusters indicate
moisture advection developing in the wake of surface high
pressure, along with light west-northwest flow at mid and high
levels. This would promote weak surface troughing and chances
for showers and t-storms for Sunday into Monday. This will
likely not be a widespread heavy rain event as the ensemble
means have 20% or less chance of 1" or greater of rain.
