.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire weather conditions are expected across portions of
southwest Kansas this afternoon and again on Wednesday. The
combination of unseasonably warm afternoon temperatures and low
dewpoints will cause relative humidity values to bottom out around
20%, especially near the Oklahoma border and west of highway 83.
These dry conditions when combined with gusty south southwest winds
will create an environment that may promote fire growth and make
containment more difficult for any fires that may start.
