.DISCUSSION...
Today the north winds at 10 mph or less will gradually shift to the
south during the mid to late afternoon as a surface boundary slowly
moves east across western Kansas. Afternoon humidity will range from
30 to 40% west of Highway 83, increasing to 50-60% further east.
On Monday and Tuesday, south southwest winds will increase as
afternoon humidity falls back into the 20 to 30 percent range. This
combination of increasing wind and lower afternoon humidity will
increase the fire risk early next week. Currently, there is an
elevated fire weather risk for portions of southwest Kansas on
Tuesday.
