Heat index values around 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west central Kansas. * WHEN...From noon CDT /11 AM MDT/ today to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is a prolonged period of near record breaking heat for the area, so multiple days of heat preparedness and precautions should be taken. Additional heat headlines will be evaluated day to day. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
