Solar activity was at low levels. Region 4494 (S03W42, Hsx/alpha) exhibited decay in its trailing spots as its flare activity subsided. Region 4498 (N14E50, Dai/beta-gamma) rotated into better viewing positioning, revealing mixed polarity just behind its large, leading spot and was responsible for a handful of low level C-class flares. Region 4499 (N04E18, Cro/beta) underwent evolution, gaining additional spots and produced a low level C-class flare. Region 4501 (S09E16, Dro/beta-gamma) rapidly emerged this period, developed rudimentary penumbra on its leading and trailing spots, produced a low level C-class flare and was thus subsequently numbered. The remaining numbered active regions were unremarkable in relation. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery. .Forecast... Solar activity is expected to be low with a chance for M-class flares (R1-R2, Minor-Moderate) through 01 August. Energetic Particle .24 hr Summary... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels. .Forecast... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is likely to remain at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels through 01 August. Solar Wind .24 hr Summary... Solar wind parameters were at nominal levels. Total IMF field values ranged 1 to 7 nT while the maximum southward deflection of the Bz component was -4 nT. Solar wind speeds roughly ranged from 310 km/s to 401 km/s. Phi was negative until approximately 29/0753 UTC when a solar sector boundary crossing occurred to a positive solar sector. .Forecast... A disturbed solar wind environment will likely return on on 30 July due to the prospect of combined positive polarity CH HSS effects and CME arrivals from events that left the Sun on 26 and 27 July. An additional disturbance is likely on 01 August with the arrival of an additional CME that left the Sun late on 27 July. Geospace .24 hr Summary... The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels. .Forecast... Quiet to unsettled conditions, with isolated active periods, are expected to persist through 01 August due to weak positive polarity CH HSS influences and a combination of either glancing or relatively weak CME effects from events that left the Sun over the course of 26 and 27 July. Chances for G1 or greater activity during the forecast period sit at 25-30%, but could become higher depending on both CME trajectory and strength of connectivity to the aforementioned positive polarity CH HSS.
