Solar activity was at low levels. The largest flare of the period was a C3.0 at 30/0120 UTC from an area beyond the NE limb. Region 4517 (N09W78, Dao/beta) produced a two C1 flares early in the period, and was stable. Region 4518 (N06W02, Bxo/beta) reemerged with spots after decaying to plage early in the period, and Region 4520 (S12E15, Dro/beta) added a few rudimentary spots. The remaining regions were in decay. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery. .Forecast... Solar activity is expected to reach low levels with a slight chance for M-class (R1-R2/Minor-Moderate) activity on 30 Aug-01 Sep. Energetic Particle .24 hr Summary... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels, and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels. .Forecast... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels on 30 Aug, and increase to high levels on 31 Aug-01 Sep. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels through 01 Sep. Solar Wind .24 hr Summary... Solar wind parameters remained enhanced under continued positive polarity CH HSS influences, and possible transient influences. Total magnetic field strength reached a peak of 13 nT, while the Bz component reached as far south as -11 nT. Solar wind speeds ranged between ~390-475 km/s. The phi angle was predominately positive. .Forecast... Enhanced solar wind conditions are expected to continue through 30 Aug due to positive polarity CH HSS influences and the anticipated arrival of CMEs that departed the Sun on 25-26 Aug. A return to ambient solar wind conditions is expected by 31 Aug and persist through 01 Sep. Geospace .24 hr Summary... The geomagnetic field reached active levels due to positive polarity CH HSS influences. .Forecast... Active conditions are expected on 30 Aug due to positive polarity CH HSS influences, coupled with the anticipated arrival of CMEs that left the Sun on 25-26 Aug. Quiet to unsettled conditions are likely on 31 Aug, followed by mostly quiet conditions on 01 Sep, as any remaining +CH HSS/CME influences subside.
