Solar Activity

.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity continued at low levels with only low-level C-class
activity observed. Region 4560 (N13W72, Fai/beta-gamma) was the only
remaining spotted region on the disk and was mostly quiet as it rotated
towards the W limb.

No new Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph
imagery.

.Forecast...
Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels through 27 Oct, with
a slight chance for isolated M-class flares (R1-R2, Minor-Moderate).

Energetic Particle

.24 hr Summary...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels, with a peak
flux of 3,259 pfu observed. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained
steady at background levels.

.Forecast...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue reaching
high levels through 27 Oct. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is
anticipated to persist at background levels through 27 Oct.

Solar Wind

.24 hr Summary...
Solar wind parameters returned to nominal levels. Total magnetic field
strength (Bt) below 5 nT. No significant periods of southward Bz were
observed. Solar wind speeds steadily declined from ~425 km/s to ~350
km/s by the end of the UT day. Phi angle became variable after 24/1240
UTC.

.Forecast...
Enhanced solar wind conditions are likely on 25-26 Oct due to combined
influences of a small, negative polarity CH HSS and possible glancing
CME effects from the 21 Oct eruptions. Nominal conditions are expected
over 27 Oct.

Geospace

.24 hr Summary...
The geomagnetic field was quiet.

.Forecast...
Periods of active conditions, with a chance for G1 (Minor) storming, are
possible on 25 Oct due to combined effects from a negative polarity
coronal hole and potential glancing CME impacts. Mostly quiet conditions
are likely on 26-27 Oct.
