Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast today and tonight. Occasional cloud-to-ground lightning is the main threat with the storms. Brief periods of very localized heavy rainfall are possible which may lead to ponding of water in low-lying areas. Severe weather is not expected. Areas of dense fog may redevelop tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Dense fog may linger Tuesday morning. A cold front will move through the area Tuesday and Tuesday night. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will accompany the cold front. A few storms may be strong to severe over central Minnesota. Hail to ping pong ball size, occasional cloud-to-ground lightning, brief wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph, and locally heavy rain which may lead to minor flooding are the main threats. Occasional cloud-to-water lightning is the main threat. Severe weather is not anticipated at this time. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday A cold front will move through the area Tuesday and Tuesday night which include a risk of thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to severe. Occasional cloud-to-water lightning, wind gusts of 35 to 50 knots, and large hail are the main threats from the storms. Gusty north and northwest winds are forecast over western Lake Superior in the wake of a cold front Wednesday through the end of the week. Conditions will be hazardous to smaller vessels at times from through Saturday.
