...The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

  South Skunk River at Colfax affecting Jasper, Marion and Polk
  Counties.

  Des Moines River at Des Moines SE 6th St affecting Marion, Warren
  and Polk Counties.

  North Raccoon River near Perry affecting Dallas County.

  North River near Norwalk Hwy R57 affecting Warren and Polk
  Counties.

  South River near Ackworth affecting Warren County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

weather.gov/desmoines/water.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation over the next 48 hours.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON TO SUNDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...South Skunk River at Colfax, or from the Jasper-Polk County
  Line to the Jasper-Marion County line.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Water affects the earthen levee west of
  town near the sewage disposal area. Evacuations may occur on the
  northwest side of Colfax. Flooding occurs in Reasnor.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.1 feet, and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
    tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 19.5 feet early Friday morning.
    It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...South River near Ackworth, or from Otter Creek near Milo to
  the Des Moines River.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 28.6 feet, Water is over Iowa 92 between mile markers
  137.5 and 139.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 26.6 feet, and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.0 feet
    early tomorrow afternoon before falling below flood stage
    tomorrow evening.
  - Flood stage is 29.0 feet.

* WHERE...North River near Norwalk Hwy R57, or from the
  Madison-Warren County line to the Des Moines River.

* WHEN...From Thursday evening to Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Secondary road closures occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.2 feet, and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
    tomorrow evening to a crest of 22.7 feet early Friday afternoon.
    It will then fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 25.7 feet, Water surrounds the base of Simon Estes
  Amphitheater.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.3 feet, and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
    tomorrow evening to a crest of 25.9 feet early Friday afternoon.
    It will then fall below flood stage Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night to Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water affects 180th Lane west of Minburn.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 8.8 feet, and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
    Friday morning to a crest of 15.8 feet early Friday afternoon. It
    will then fall below flood stage late Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
