...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southern Linn,
eastern Iowa, southeastern Benton, northern Washington, northwestern
Muscatine, western Cedar, southwestern Jones and Johnson Counties
through 700 AM CDT...

At 613 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Norway to Wellman. Movement was east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...
  Cedar Rapids, Kalona, Fairfax, Walford, Oxford, and Richmond
  around 620 AM CDT.
  Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, and Swisher around 625 AM CDT.
  Iowa City, Riverside, Shueyville, and Oakdale around 630 AM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these storms include Ely, University
Heights, Hills, Solon, Bertram and Lake Macbride State Park.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 223 and 262.
 Interstate 380 between mile markers 1 and 23.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
