Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0145 AM CST Thu Nov 13 2025

Valid 141200Z - 151200Z

...Synopsis...
In response to strengthening midlevel westerly flow across the
northern/central Rockies, surface lee troughing will be reinforced
over the High Plains. From southeast WY into western NE,
downslope-enhanced boundary-layer mixing into the strengthening flow
aloft will contribute to 15-20 mph sustained westerly surface winds
(with higher gusts) amid 15-25 percent afternoon RH. Given at least
modestly receptive fuels, a few hours of elevated fire-weather
conditions are expected.

Farther south, around 15 mph sustained westerly surface winds and 15
percent RH in the lee of the higher terrain from east-central NM
toward the Cap Rock will also contribute to a corridor of locally
elevated fire-weather conditions during the afternoon.
