* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Carroll County in north central Missouri...
  Southeastern Clay County in west central Missouri...
  Central Jackson County in west central Missouri...
  Northwestern Lafayette County in west central Missouri...
  Southern Ray County in west central Missouri...

* Until 900 AM CDT.

* At 615 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Kansas City, Independence, Lee`s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown,
  Liberty, Grandview, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Odessa, Higginsville,
  Lexington, Sugar Creek, Buckner, Claycomo, Courtney, Orrick,
  Wellington, Lake Tapawingo and Glenaire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
