...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Missouri...Kansas...

  Missouri River at St Joseph affecting Buchanan, Doniphan and
  Andrew Counties.

  Missouri River at Waverly affecting Lafayette, Saline and Carroll
  Counties.

  Missouri River at Napoleon affecting Lafayette, Ray and Jackson
  Counties.

  Missouri River At Miami affecting Chariton, Saline and Carroll
  Counties.

  Missouri River at Atchison affecting Atchison, Platte and
  Buchanan Counties.

  Missouri River at Leavenworth affecting Leavenworth and Platte
  Counties.

  Missouri River above Parkville affecting Leavenworth, Platte and
  Wyandotte Counties.

.These forecasts include the next 24 hours of expected
precipitation. Crest magnitude and timing will likely change in
future forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Missouri River at St Joseph.

* WHEN...Until Friday, July 05.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Lowland flooding upstream and downstream
  from St. Joseph occurs.
  At 19.0 feet, Backwater from the Missouri River floods property
  along the Nodaway river at Nodaway, Missouri.
  At 21.0 feet, Riverfront Park in St. Joseph begins to flood.
  At 24.0 feet, A residential area in northwest St. Joseph begins to
  flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:35 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 19.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.5
    feet early Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood
    stage Thursday, July 04.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

  - At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 18.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this
    evening to 22.4 feet Saturday morning. It will rise to 26.4
    feet Thursday, July 04. It will then fall below flood stage
    Friday, July 05.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Missouri River at Atchison.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning to Friday, July 05.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Low-lying areas on the Missouri side of
  the river begin to flood.
  At 25.0 feet, A castings plant in Atchison is affected by flood
  waters.
  At 27.0 feet, River Road in Atchison floods and levees on the
  Missouri side of the river are overtopped. If the river remains
  above 27 feet for several days then U.S. Highway 59 and large
  portions of the floodplain in Missouri flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 21.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to flood stage tomorrow
    morning. It will rise to 25.9 feet Tuesday evening. It will
    then fall below flood stage again Thursday, July 04.
  - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

JULY 05...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Missouri River at Leavenworth.

* WHEN...From late Saturday night to Friday, July 05.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding occurs along the east and
  west banks of the river.
  At 22.3 feet, Water enters Riverfront Park in Leavenworth. In
  addition, 2nd Street at the waste water treatment plant is closed
  due to high water. Persons should vacate the park to avoid the
  loss of life and property.
  At 23.4 feet, The Hildebrandt Island north of Fort Leavenworth
  begins to flood and families in this area need to evacuate.
  At 25.2 feet, Water overtops the levee north of Fort Leavenworth.

  - At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 19.3 feet early Friday
    morning. It will rise above flood stage early Sunday morning
    to 23.8 feet Wednesday, July 03. It will then fall below
    flood stage Thursday, July 04.

  - Forecast...The river will rise to 23.2 feet early Saturday
    morning. It will rise above flood stage early Monday morning
    to 27.3 feet Wednesday, July 03. It will then fall below
    flood stage Thursday, July 04.
