...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...High astronomical tides and south winds may cause
  moderate flooding in low lying areas along the Redwood coast.
  Up to one half foot (9.0 to 9.5 feet MLLW) of saltwater
  inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas
  near shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...Northern Humboldt Coast County. This includes King
  Salmon, the Arcata Bottoms and areas right on the waterfront
  in Eureka.

* WHEN...Wednesday morning. Additional flooding is possible
  Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Several coastal roads may be closed. Low lying
  property and some critical infrastructure will be inundated.
  Some shoreline erosion may occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor flooding is possible Tuesday with
  tides reaching near 8.8 above MLLW. Additional flooding is
  also expected Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Watch means that flooding is possible but not
imminent. Coastal residents in the watch area should begin
preparations for rising water and take appropriate action to
protect life and property.

Feet Above Ground is locally defined as feet above the Highest
Astronomical Tide or HAT.
