.DISCUSSION...Warm and dry conditions continue this week. Afternoon
RH`s remains low, into the teens or 20s, while overnight recoveries
remain good in the valleys and moderate to good in the higher
terrain. Afternoon northwesterly breezes are expected in the
interior valleys today through Friday, with gusts up to 20-25 mph
possible in the valleys and gusts to 30-35 mph possible in the
highest terrain.
Late this week into the weekend, a ridge starts to build while an
upper-level low develops off the coast. Hotter temperatures are
forecast this weekend with highs between the mid 90s to 103. There
is considerable uncertainty with southerly moisture transport into
the area this weekend. Dry and high based thunderstorms will be
possible (10% chance) this weekend over interior mountains,
primarily the Trinity Alps and Yolla Bolly mountains.
Hot weather is expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Possible thunderstorms (20% chance) continues on Monday and Tuesday
for the Klamath Mountains.
