.DISCUSSION...Patches of light rain showers or sprinkles will continue
to dissipate this afternoon, followed by a period relatively
drier weather through Sunday. A colder and wet weather with
periods of mostly light to moderate rain is expected Sunday night
through Monday. Potential of heavy amounts of rain increases early
Monday into Monday afternoon as a cold front approaches the area.
Chance for 0.25 inches or more in 6 hours rapidly increases to
near 55% by 5 AM Monday. Highest chance for over 0.50 inches or
more in 6 hours over the higher terrain is expected from 5AM to
11AM Monday. Storm total rainfall from 11PM Sunday to 11PM Monday
will range from 1.00-1.30 inches in the west-southwest windward
higher terrain to 0.50 to 0.80 inches in the lower terrain. Colder
air advection will support lowering of the snow level near 4,500
feet Monday morning, resulting in 1-3 inches of mountain snow.
Chances for 1 inch of snow or more in 6 hours increases to 25% by
5AM Monday, and 40% by 11 AM on Monday.
