Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
1100 AM PDT Mon Oct 6 2025

For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:

Active Systems:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Octave, located in the eastern Pacific well to the
west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula,
and on Hurricane Priscilla, located a couple hundred miles offshore
of southwestern Mexico.

South of Southern Mexico:
Satellite wind data indicate that a broad area of low pressure has
formed a couple of hundred miles off the coast of Guatemala. This
system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
Development appears unlikely during the next couple of days due to
strong upper-level winds. However, environmental conditions are
expected to become more favorable for development thereafter, and a
tropical depression is likely to form late this week while moving
west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph, near or parallel to the coast of
Mexico. Regardless of development, this system could produce
periods of heavy rainfall along the coast of southern Mexico this
week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...high...70 percent.
