DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression
Fifteen-E was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 119.7
West. The depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 9 mph
(15 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue for the next
several days with some gradual acceleration.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some slight strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and
the depression could become a tropical storm later today. The
system is expected to weaken beginning Tuesday night or Wednesday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
