...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following
  areas, Lowlands of the Bootheel, Southwest Desert/Lower Gila River
  Valley and Uplands of the Bootheel.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Expect more moderate rainfall rates today with pockets
  of heavier rain with a focus being in the New Mexico Bootheel
  region. Flooding is possible in arroyos, low water crossings, and
  low-lying areas with poor drainage. While tributary arroyo flows
  may diminish on Sunday, some of the slower-reacting main washes,
  such as Animas Creek, may continue to flood, and could cut off
  access to some rural roads in the Bootheel.
