...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...In Southwest New Mexico, Grant County, northern Hidalgo
County, and western Sierra County. This includes Silver City,
Lordsburg, Gila, and other surrounding communities. This includes
the Gila and upper Mimbres watersheds.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM MST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Low-water crossings may become flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Pacific frontal boundary will move through New Mexico this
afternoon, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms to much
of western New Mexico. Storms will be capable of heavy rain and
training, which will lead to localized flash flooding. High soil
saturation due to recent rains will cause runoff to occur more
quickly.
