...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas...

  Rio Grande At El Paso affecting El Paso County.

For the Rio Grande...including El Paso...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The next statement will be issued Thursday morning at 1100 AM MDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Rio Grande at El Paso.

* WHEN...Until late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding will occur on Paisano Drive near Executive
  Center which may lead to road closures. Walking paths and parks
  located between the Rio Grande levees will become inundated. No
  other major flooding impacts are expected due to levee protection
  within the warning area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:05 PM MDT Wednesday the stage was 9.2 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 10:05 PM MDT Wednesday was 9.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.3 feet
    tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.3
    feet on 08/01/2006.
