...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following county, Otero.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some
  low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 750 AM MDT, Gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Pipeline Canyon, Culp Canyon, Sacramento River, Red Arroyo,
    Rio Penasco, Lost River and Chiquita Creek, Agua.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Timberon, Orogrande, Sunspot, Alamogordo, White Sands
    National Park, Holloman Air Force Base, La Luz, Boles Acres,
    Benson Ridge, Karr Canyon, Hay Canyon, and Oliver Lee State
    Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
