...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...Northeastern Otero County in south central New Mexico...

* WHEN...Until 800 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
  earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing
  water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 607 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
    in the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mainly rural areas of Northeastern Otero County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
