...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL DONA ANA COUNTY THROUGH
700 PM MDT...

At 622 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 16 miles east of Akela to 9 miles southwest of
Fairacres to 5 miles northeast of Afton. Movement was northeast at 40
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Las Cruces, Radium Springs, NMSU Main Campus, Dona Ana, Mesilla, San
Miguel, Talavera, Afton, Corralitos, Fort Selden, and Dripping
Springs.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 118 and 149.
 Interstate 25 in New Mexico between mile markers 1 and 22.
 Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 150 and 164.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
