...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL SIERRA COUNTY THROUGH
1000 PM MDT...
At 922 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Caballo, moving north at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Arrey, Caballo, Truth or Consequences, San Miguel, City of Elephant
Butte, Palomas, Williamsburg, Lower Animas Creek, Upper Palomas
Canyon, Lower Palomas Canyon, Ash Canyon, Hot Springs Landing,
Elephant Butte Lake, and Caballo Lake.
This includes Interstate 25 in New Mexico between mile markers 53 and
80.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
