.DISCUSSION...
Spotty rain showers will focus across the western Hill Country,
Southern Edwards Plateau, and the Rio Grande during the afternoon
into the early evening. Elsewhere, conditions look to remain rain
free. Minimum humidity will be highest out west today around 40
to 50 percent while locations along and east of I-35 fall into the
30 to 40 percent range. Even drier air arrives with the light
northeast flow from late this week into the weekend. This ends any
area rain chances. Additionally, the minimum humidity levels will
drop into the 20 to 35 percent range. Despite wind speeds
remaining rather insignificant, the dry air and the flash drought
conditions from the lack of significant rainfall will result in
possible elevated fire weather conditions at least on Friday and
Saturday. As previously mentioned, there has been an uptick in
small grass fires in recent weeks.
